Compact Paratrooper Light Machine Gun

The Compact Paratrooper Light Machine Gun addresses the need for a lighter, more compact SAW platform for airborne operations, vehicle-borne troops, and special mission units operating in confined environments where the full-length standard SAW is impractical. The shorter barrel reduces overall weapon length for easier insertion/extraction from aircraft and vehicles, while the folding and telescoping stock allows the weapon to be further compacted for carriage and stowage. Despite the reduction in size, the weapon retains the full belt-fed automatic fire capability of the standard model, including the quick-change barrel feature for sustained fire operations. The same M27 link belt feed and STANAG magazine backup port are retained for ammunition commonality with standard SAW users in the same unit.
