Modern Semi-Automatic Battle Rifle (BAR Redesign)
The Modern Semi-Automatic Battle Rifle (H.C.A.R. — Heavy Counter Assault Rifle) is Ohio Ordnance Works' comprehensive modernization of the legendary Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), which served US forces from World War I through the Vietnam War. The HCAR retains the proven tilting-bolt gas-operated action and powerful .30-06 Springfield chambering of the original BAR, while replacing everything else with contemporary military-grade materials and ergonomics. The new polymer furniture, adjustable six-position M4-style stock, full-length Picatinny top rail, M-LOK handguard, and muzzle brake transform the classic platform into a modern precision assault rifle weighing just 12 lbs. The 20-round detachable box magazine provides standard capacity, while the 16" or 20" cold hammer-forged barrel delivers the .30-06's formidable terminal ballistics at ranges to 600m.
